Dublin, Ireland – 26th November 2024 – RedClick dublinbikes, the city’s iconic bike-sharing scheme, is proud to announce a special initiative for the upcoming Irish General Election. To encourage and enable greater voter participation, ‘1 Day Tickets’ for RedClick dublinbikes will be free of charge on Election Day, this Friday, 29 November. Please note that normal rental charges will apply for any journeys over 30 minutes.
This initiative reflects RedClick dublinbikes’ commitment to fostering civic engagement and making it easier for residents to exercise their democratic right to vote. Whether you’re travelling to a local polling station, running errands, or simply enjoying the city, RedClick dublinbikes will make getting around easy and affordable.
Celebrating its new RedClick partnership
RedClick was announced as the new partner of dublinbikes earlier this month (6th November). Part of the Generali Group, a global leader in insurance and asset management, the insurer first entered the Irish market in 2024, serving an existing base of over 250,000 customers through its current motor and home offering. With over 400 employees across offices in Cavan, Enniskillen, and Dublin, RedClick’s three-year partnership with dublinbikes is rooted in shared values of community support, sustainability, road safety and healthier lifestyles.
How It Works:
- When: From midnight to 11:59 PM on Election Day, 29 November 2024.
- What: ‘1 Day Tickets’ (usually €3.50) will be free for 24 hours. All journeys under 30 minutes will remain free, with standard rental charges applying for trips over 30 minutes.
- How to redeem: Log on to dublinbikes.ie or via the official RedClick dublinbikes app and select the ‘promotions’ subscription option. Select the ‘Free RedClick: Pedal to the Polls’ option. New users will have to register.
