Help Is At Hand: Emergency Home Repair Support

If you own your home or you rent out a property, you’ll know that it comes with plenty of work. From cleaning gutters to scheduling boiler services, it takes a lot of effort to keep things running smoothly.

But even with all of this preparation, things can still go wrong, whether it’s a broken boiler or a faulty fuse board. And what happens then? Who do you call? How much will it cost? Will you have to wait long?

Dealing with home repairs can be uniquely challenging, which is why we offer round-the-clock emergency assistance as part of our affordable home insurance policies

Let’s show you all the ways we help you deal with emergencies at home, saving you time, stress, and money too.

Emergency 24-Hour Home Repair Helpline

We all know the feeling of frantically Googling “Plumber near me” while standing in a pool of water or searching for an electrician’s number by the light of a candle.

Our Emergency Home Repair helpline makes this process faster, easier, and far less stressful. Available to all RedClick home insurance policy holders, this line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whether you’ve got an overflowing drain, a broken lock, or smashed window, our experienced agents are on hand to put you in touch with reputable tradespeople who can help.

You will have to pay any charges from the tradespeople called out to help you, unless the cost is covered by Emergency Home Repair on your policy.

Read on to learn more about how we can help with the cost as well as the hassle of dealing with the unexpected at home.

Emergency Home Repair Cover

If you have both buildings and contents cover with RedClick, you’ll automatically receive Emergency Home Repair on your policy. So, if there’s an emergency in your home, we can provide access to qualified reputable tradespeople 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We will also cover the cost of the call-out, labour, and materials needed, up to a maximum of €260 plus VAT for each emergency with up to four call-outs per year, for emergency repairs such as;

  • Plumbing: If your home is among the estimated 30,000 in Ireland with a suspected leak, it’s vital to get a qualified plumber in quickly.
  • Blocked drains and toilets: This is a messy job, but someone’s got to do it — and we have a list of professionals who can help.
  • Internal electrics: Blown a fuse or found a fault? You’ll need to get a qualified electrician to inspect your home.
  • Roof damage: This can happen more often than you think, especially after a storm or heavy rain. Make sure you get an expert to look at it before it worsens.
  • External glass: Suffered a broken window or glass panel on your patio door? Our glass experts will know how to fix it, keeping you secure and safe at home.
  • Locks and keys: If you’ve broken a key in a lock or found yourself locked out of your house, we can put you in touch with someone to get you access quickly.

Protecting your home and your pocket

Regular maintenance is an accepted part of managing a home, but some houses are more susceptible to problems than others.

If you have an older home you should seriously consider choosing home insurance with Emergency Home Repair cover. New homeowners or landlords can benefit from this cover too, as modern systems sometimes require specialist repairs and replacements.

No matter where you live, emergencies at home can be disruptive, stressful, and expensive. For example, an out-of-hours callout fee for a plumber can be as much as €250 — and that’s before materials, parts, and labour kick in.

RedClick’s Emergency Home Repair cover gives you quick access to qualified professionals, while safe in the knowledge that a significant part of the cost will be taken care of. That means you can tackle problems fast, before they have time to get bigger, more complex, and potentially more costly.
