When would you like to change to your temporary vehicle

Terms and conditions

A Temporary Change of vehicle may only be made where the following criteria are met:

  • Available to Private Car policies only.
  • The temporary vehicle must only be a Private Car.
  • The temporary vehicle cannot be registered in the name of the policyholder.
  • The temporary vehicle must have a valid NCT and be in a roadworthy condition.
  • Changing cover to a temporary vehicle for up to 2 weeks at any one time, subject to a maximum of 8 weeks during a policy year.
  • Changing cover to a temporary vehicle is only provided for when repairs are being carried out on the permanent vehicle on cover, test driving a garage car or for a courtesy vehicle as a result of an accident.
  • There is no longer cover on your existing vehicle.
  • There is no windscreen cover on temporary vehicle.

Additional Charges may apply if:

  • The value of the temporary vehicle exceeds the value of the permanent vehicle on cover
  • Cover is upgraded from the existing level of cover on the policy.
  • The engine size of the temporary vehicle increases from that of the permanent vehicle on cover

If a charge is applicable, it will be based on an initial charge of €34.34 excluding levy and service fees. A member of staff will contact you to advise you of the full charge and to arrange payment on the next working day.

Please Note:

  • For the period you transfer cover to the temporary vehicle, there is no cover for the permanent vehicle under this policy.
  • Cover for the temporary vehicle cannot be provided for a period before the date you submit this form.
  • Email confirmation will be sent to the policyholders email address provided within this form, please retain this as confirmation of your temporary change of vehicle.
  • Amendments to this temporary change of vehicle, including reverting cover to the permanent vehicle at an earlier date than specified, can only be completed by contacting our Customer Service Team.
  • RedClick reserve the right to review and amend this temporary change of vehicle to ensure it is in line with policy terms and conditions.
